Hi, I'm Marion
Founder, Red Apple Digital.
I've been working in and around the web since the early 2000s, when I ran my own design and digital consultancy, building websites from scratch, by hand, long before the drag-and-drop tools most people use today even existed. Since then I've managed prepress and creative teams for major retailers, and spent years as an ecommerce content manager: hands-on, every day, in some seriously complex platforms. My last role before going out on my own was leading a large team of content editors for one of New Zealand's largest retailers, so I've seen how ecommerce works at real scale, not just in theory.
After 14 years working in corporate, I decided to bring that experience back to what I love most: working directly with clients to make their digital presence genuinely work for them.
In a way, Red Apple Digital is a homecoming. The same skills, the same eye for detail, the same love of making things work properly online. Just focused on delivering real results without the agency overhead.
How I work
My approach comes down to one idea: clear beats clever. No jargon for the sake of sounding technical, no upsells dressed up as advice, no promising something before I've actually tested it works. If a free tool does the job as well as a paid one, I'll use the free one. If I haven't built a proper process for a piece of work yet, I won't sell it to you until I have. That way, I'm not learning on your dollar.
I've worked with a real variety of businesses, across different products and services, but the underlying question is always the same: is this website actually working as hard as it should be? That's the question I bring to every client, whatever you sell.
Squarespace and Shopify are my daily tools. I know their quirks, their limits, and how to get the best out of them. If your website's built on something else, I'm happy to take a look under the hood before we start any work. I understand SEO without making it sound like rocket science. And I'm always honest about what will and won't move the needle for your business.
